Race #21

Race #8 in the Bodyline Stroke & Stride Series attracted a top field including a large number of competitors in Auckland to race in the ironman.  Super swimmers David Lee and Megan Robertson had handy leads after the big 2000 metre swim and set off on the five kilometre run with a world class field in hot pursuit.  Greg Clarke from the United States of America found the leg speed to catch David Lee in the final kilometre of the run to win by ten seconds.  French sister’s Isabelle and Beatrice Mouthon got  the closest  to Megan Robertson in the run but Megan held on to win her sixth race in the Series.

Going into the final race Mike Brunt and Megan Robertson were leading the Series Grand Prix however both required good finishes in Race #8 to ensure victory.  Megan’s first place and Mike’s seventh proved to be enough when the final points were calculated for them to be crowned this summer’s Stroke & Stride Champions.
