Orca New Zealand Swimrun Championships

Orewa Beach, New Zealand

New Zealand’s Brent Foster nabbed his sixth national title Saturday in the Orca New Zealand Swimrun Championships at Orewa Beach. Samantha Warriner won her first national crown in the women’s race.

Foster won his first national title in 1994, then added to his total in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001. Foster had nearly a minute on the rest of the field coming out of the water and extended that over the run. Warriner took control of the race during the run. The race was contested over a 1250 swim/5k run course.

Foster has had a great season of swimrun success this year, also claiming his eighth series title in the popular Reesby & Company Stroke & Stride Series and his 41st win there. Warriner had three wins in that series.
